Guitar Repairs

I offer personalised setup and repair services tailored to your individual needs.

This will be taken out by finding out what styles of music you play, and often I will want to see how you play too. If you have a specific type of setup you like, I am happy to oblige, and will record measurements of the action and neck relief before making any adjustments. I also am able to carry out repairs on other stringed instruments, such as mandolins, cellos, double bass, etc. however I do not accept work on antique banjo-mandolins, sorry. Just hang them on your wall.

All repairs are quoted on a job by job basis at $105 per hour. Some guides for pricing can be seen below. I will provide an estimate before carrying out any extra work if it exceeds the cost of preliminary estimate.

Pricing Guide

Basic setup - from $105 - this will include all setup adjustments necessary and making sure all hardware and (controls if any) are operating and fastened correctly. Plus light clean/polish. Heavily soiled guitars will incur extra labour costs.

Fret dress - from $260 - includes above in addition to reseating, leveling, crowning and polishing all frets

Nut/saddle - $160 replace nut or saddle with material of choice or bone by default including setup work (see top)

Wiring work - $105 plus parts. This includes any wiring repair or modification work not including parts.

Refret - quoted by job, but ranging from $350-$700 depending on the instrument. A simple unfinished Rosewood or Ebony board with no binding will be closer to 350, a bound, and/or lacquered neck will be closer to 700. With your fretwire of choice, matching the existing wire, or by my recommendation.
